A beautiful cast bronze traditional doctor’s door knocker found in a home in Franklin, TN, and dating from the 1930’s. The door knocker retains its original, beautifully aged patina, and features stepped design. Legend has it that this style of a door knocker was used in England to identify the door where the town’s doctor lived so a person who needed medical attention could easily determine where to go for help. The door knocker measures 2-5/8” wide, 8-1/4” tall, and projects 3-1/2”.
